Privacy
What we collect, which is almost nothing.
This is a book site run by one family. There is no company behind it and no data business in it. Here is the whole of it, in plain words.
The site itself
These pages are plain files. They set no cookies, run no tracking scripts, and carry no ads. Nobody is following you around the internet because you read about a hike. Our host keeps ordinary server logs, the same way every website host does.
If you join the mailing list
Subscribing means giving one thing: an email address. The subscribe button on this site hands you to Substack, where Strawbridge Treks is published; Substack holds the list and delivers the mail under its own privacy policy. The address is used to send you occasional mail from the Strawbridge family — the story behind the book, footage worth your time, and where the family walks next. It is not sold, rented, traded, or handed to anyone for their own use.
Every email has an unsubscribe link, and it works immediately. Ask to be deleted entirely and you will be, without a conversation about it.
Buying the book
The buy buttons here go to Amazon and Audible. Anything you do there happens under their privacy policies, not ours, and we never see your payment details. Some of those links are affiliate or referral links, which means a commission may be paid on a purchase or signup made through them. It never costs you anything extra, and it never changes what we recommend.
Children
This site isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect anything from them.
Reaching a human
Reply to any letter you get from the list and it reaches Vince. Otherwise Strawbridge Treks on Substack is the surest way to reach the family.
